Israel came to a point in time when they had strong military forces on each of their borders, so they demanded that the prophet Samuel anoint a king to lead them. They wanted to put their faith in a man they could see, not a God they couldn’t touch. Samuel anointed Saul, a king whose eventual downfall was the result of partial obedience to God. Pastor Chris teaches out of Samuel 15, highlighting the fact that God cares more about our direction than perfection.
